Viewhill Car Hire FAQs.

After a motor vehicle accident, it’s recommended that all child restraints be replaced. If you are ‘not at fault’ in the accident, you are entitled to have your child restraint(s) replaced and paid for by the third party or their insurer.

If you are not at fault in a motor vehicle accident and you contact your insurer, even though they may manage the situation for you and you may not pay an excess, they will flag you as a risk and potentially increase your premium the following year.

You are entitled to choose any repairer you see fit to repair your vehicle. Insurance companies will tend to send you to their preferred repairers who may not use genuine parts and are bound to a quota for the insurer, resulting in rushed jobs and poor workmanship.

If a third party’s insurer sends your vehicle to one of their repairers, you are entitled to request genuine parts.

The third party’s insurer must pay for a like-for-like replacement vehicle.

If your vehicle is not drivable, Viewhill Car Hire can organise the tow to your preferred repairer and deliver a replacement car to you. Once your vehicle is repaired, we can assist further as needed.

You are entitled to negotiate the payout figure for the total loss of your vehicle. Viewhill Car Hire will organise an independent assessment and can negotiate the payout amount on your behalf.

If the third party insurer calls you, you do not have to communicate directly with them. Viewhill Car Hire can organise everything related to the claim on your behalf.

Viewhill Car Hire can recommend a repairer in Melbourne near you for your convenience.
